If you are facing any bugs or issues on your Fire TV Stick devices you can perform a restart to bring back your Firestick to optimal performance. There are a few different ways to restart your Fire TV Stick with or without a remote.

How to Restart Amazon Fire TV

You can reboot your Amazon Fire TV Stick or Fire TV device in two ways. Using Settings and Firestick remote.

1. Press and hold the Home button on your Firestick remote for about 5-10 seconds to get the Menu screen.

2. Using the navigation buttons on your Firestick remote, scroll and select the Settings option.

3. Under the Settings menu, select the My Fire TV option.

5. A confirmation message will appear on the screen asking if you want to restart your Firestick.

6. Select the Restart option on confirmation.

8. You will get the home screen once the Firestick completes the restart process.

1. First, press and hold the Select and Play/ Pause buttons for a few seconds until you see the black screen.

Unplugging the Firestick / Power Source

You can follow this restart method only when your Firestick gets frozen or the black screen or the remote stops functioning suddenly.

If you have connected Firestick to your Smart TV, unplug and reinsert the device back into the TV. If you use Fire TV, unplug the cable from the power source and leave it for a minute. Plugin the cable back to the power source and check whether the issue is resolved. You can perform this reboot on your Firestick device before resetting Firestick to factory settings.

How to Restart Firestick in Safe Mode

Sometimes the third-party apps on Firestick might cause internal glitches and make the device enter boot mode in the loop. To fix it, you need to get your Fire TV Stick into Safe Mode using an external device.

1. Connect a keyboard to your Fire TV using the USB cable. If you have Firestick, you will need an Android OTG cable.

2. Turn on your Firestick/ Fire TV. Press and hold the Ctrl + Alt + I + Menu + Print Screen buttons until the home screen is visible.

3. When turned on, you can see the Safe Mode on the bottom-left.
