How to watch IPTV on Plex | Guide to Stream IPTV Using Plex

To use IPTV on Plex, you have to install two software:
- tvheadend
- tvhProxy
tvheadend – This software is not supported on windows. But you can install them in OS like Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS.
tvhProxy – tvhProxy is a fair python script which emulates an HDHomeRun for Plex to find. Git clone the repo and cp the startup script similar to the readme shows. There is also a requirement to edit tvhProxy.py to contain the URL which includes the username and password of your tvheadend installation.

Before you get into this guide you have to make sure that you have started your service. The tricky part to figure out was tvheadend. The application is quite robust, but the settings of the application are quite overwhelming because of the technology and different options are available here. Step 1: First, Navigate to Configuration -> DVB Inputs -> Networks -> Add.
Step 2: Now select “IPTV Automatic Network“.
Step 3: Enter a provider name (Provider name can be anything like you wish)

Step 4: Now enter the Maximum streams of your IPTV provider, and usually this is 1 till you pay for more.
Step 5: Then, enter your M3U URL.
Step 6: Here you have to uncheck the Scan after creation because we don’t want tvheadend to access all 2000 channels.
Step 7: Then just skip the startup scan as we dont want to tune it to each channel every time tvheadend starts.

Step 8: Now change the Service ID to 1, this will be creating a service ID for every channel.
Step 9: Make a click on the Create button on the screen.
Step 10: Again we have to go to Configuration and select the Channel / EPG and select the option Channels and click on the Add button.
Step 11: Where you have to name the channels and check the number of channels from that you have to select the channel from your available services.
Step 12: Navigate to Plex server settings -> Live TV & DVR -> Click Set Up Plex DVR
Step 13: Plex should automatically connect to the tvhProxy server and if it doesn’t then enter it manually. Enter “192.168.1.50:5004” and press continue.
Step 14: Now select your country and click continue (It might not work for all countries but enter your zip code and press continue)
Step 15: Select the provider from the drop-down. Plex will automatically connect to the IPTV.
