How to Get Downloader on Chromecast with Google TV

If you’re unable to find your favorite streaming app on the Play Store, you must sideload the app to your TV with a sideloading tool like the Downloader. The Downloader app is available on the Play Store for users to install on their Google TV. With the Downloader app, you can download and install apk files of the apps that are not officially available on the Play Store.
Apart from sideloading apps, Downloader also features an in-built browser to surf the internet on your Google TV.
How to Install Downloader on Google TV
1. Power on the TV and move to the home screen, to begin with the installation of the app on Google TV.
2. Select the Search option and enter Downloader in the Search.
3. Choose the Downloader app from the suggestions below.
4. Click Install to download the Downloader app on your Google TV.

How to Enable Unknown Sources for Downloader
Before installing apps from unknown sources, you have to change the Google TV to Developer Mode and enable Unknown Sources for the app.
Note: To get Developer mode, go to Settings >> About and select Android TV OS build consequently seven times.
1. Go back to the Google TV home screen and select the Profile icon.
2. Select Settings and choose Apps.

3. Click Security & Restrictions and select Unknown Sources.

4. Choose the Downloader app and enable the toggle to install Unknown apps.

How to Sideload Apps on Google TV through Downloader
1. Move to the Downloader app and select Open to launch the app on your TV.

2. Select Allow in the prompt and go to the home screen.
3. Provide the App Apk File URL and select Go to download the Apk file.

4. Click Install to install the app and select Open to launch the app on your Google TV.
