AirPlay-2 is one of the most welcomed features on Google TV. But, the AirPlay feature is not available for the Chromecast with Google TV devices. It is available only for Google Smart TVs from Sony, TCL, and Hisense.

How to Setup AirPlay on Google TV

Before getting into the steps, make sure that your iPhone and Google TV are connected to the same WIFI network.

1. Navigate to the Google TV home screen and press the Source button on the TV remote.

2. Swipe right and select the Edit option in the TV Input.

4. Select AirPlay and Apple Homekit Settings to set up AirPlay on Google TV.

  • First time Only: You have to enter the code displayed on your TV for first-time pairing alone.
  • Every Time: This option requires a code for pairing your every time to your TV.
  • Use Password Instead: You can create a four-digit passcode for pairing to secure your device pairing.

How to AirPlay on Google TV from iPhone/iPad

Some of the apps have built-in AirPlay support to connect to the other devices. In those apps, just tap the AirPlay icon to cast the video content.

1. Connect the iOS device and Google TV to the same WiFi network.

2. Get the App from App Store and launch the app on your iPhone or iPad.

3. Log in to your account and choose the content for streaming.

4. Click the AirPlay icon at the top of the screen.

Note: For music or audio apps, you will see the AirPlay Audio icon to connect to other TVs or Speakers.

5. Choose the Google TV from the available device and provide the code for pairing.

6. Now, watch the iPhone or iPad content on your Google TV.

How to Screen Mirror from iPhone or iPad

When the app doesn’t have a built-in AirPlay option, you can use the screen mirroring option in the Control Center to mirror the entire screen on your Google TV.
